23 and 1/2 hours (video): What’s the single best thing we can do for our health

Doc Mike Evans is a leader in ‘sticky health messaging.’ His viral video 23 and a 1/2 hours is now at over 3 million views. He has his own you tube channel, and is also the founder of the innovative Health Design Lab.

We had the pleasure of meeting Doc Evans at the recent symposium Immunizing Canadian Seniors Against Inactivity (Dec 5-6th 2012, Vancouver). It was interesting to learn that Doc Evans was not a prominent physical activity advocate before the launch of 23 and a 1/2 hours. Doc Evans explained he was motivated to promote THE most important thing one can do for their health. After some research, and expert consultation (including with BJSM editor Dr. Karim Khan, who interviews Dr. Evans and Dr. McAuley on health promotion and behaviour change in this podcast), physical activity was the clear topical winner.
